ECAS - Working for Oregon's birds and their habitats

Welcome to the East Cascades Audubon Society.  It is a goal of our organization to promote an appreciation for the bird world.  We are a local organization, specializing in Central Oregon ornithology with only a few projects that reach beyond our local boundaries.  We gather local data and participate in projects that we feel will help protect local bird populations.  Join the ECAS and help preserve the birds in this region.

We rely on a very active volunteer base.  Please contact Sherrie for information and download our form ... download

The East Cascades Audubon Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to bird conservation in Oregon, USA. We engage the public in volunteer field studies and support projects that further the knowledge and appreciation of birds and their habitats. We have eight members on the board of directors [visit us]

Spring Field Trips Scheduled - Saturday, February 28, 2015

Starting in April, East Cascades Audubon will sponsor several birding trips throughout Central Oregon and beyond. These field trips offer a great opportunity for people who are still learning their birds as well as those experts who can help the rest of us. It’s a great chance to meet people and see some of the wonderful places to see birds in our area. These are free of charge but we do encourage participants to join ECAS. Generally, these are day trips that are led by local birders who are enthusiastic and are keen to share their knowledge of the local birds and birding spots. We encourage people to carpool and share gas costs. Transportation will be organized once folks have arrived at the meeting place. Bring good footwear, a lunch, drink and dress for any weather. Check COBOL a week prior to the trip for specifics on meeting place and time. A response if you are going is appreciated by the leader.  At this time these are the trips that are scheduled:

April  5  Birds of the Sage to White Geese – Howard Horvath, leader

April 11 (or 11 & 12 for overnight if enough interest)   Klamath Falls Birding –   Tom Penpraze, leader - email Tom if you are interested in overnight    tmpenpraze@aol.com

April 18  Lower Bridge & Redmond Lagoons -  Steve Dougill & Chuck Gates, leaders

May  3  Paulina Marsh & Summer Lake - Tom Lawler, leader

May 16  Sisters Area - Steve Dougill, leader

May 30  Crook County – Chuck Gates, leader
